Lantic Building Surveyors is a firm of Chartered Building Surveyors based in Bristol providing commercial and residential property advice throughout the South of England.

The consultancy was established by founding director Dan Sweeney and named after Lantic Bay, a beautiful rugged beach hidden away in deepest South East Cornwall.

Dan Sweeney began his career in property managing the refurbishment and maintenance programmes for a chain of prestigious luxury family hotels, including Thornbury Castle and Ickworth House. Dan then joined a market leading real estate consultancy, where he worked on a diverse range of surveying services before setting up Lantic. Dan has particular experience and professional passion for dilapidations, building surveys and refurbishment.

Justin Tyson joined as a director in early 2021 after developing his surveying career at a leading commercial practice, where he qualified as a chartered surveyor in 2010 and rose to the level of Senior Associate.  Justin has a broad experience in building surveying with a particular emphasis on technical due diligence, dilapidations and reinstatement cost assessments, having previously been responsible for regional team management of these services.  Justin also has a wealth of experience and passion for working with listed buildings and high-end residential property, including surveys at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and most recently an award-winning converted windmill.
